These are pictures of an Escort Mexico I restored in 1989

This Le-Mans Green car reg No: SLC670L was sold by myself in 1990 and I had lost track of it, until a visitor to this web page told me he has it, it is currently in North Wales having just had another full restoration, the car was in a fairly sorry state when the new owner got it but fortunately was still saveable he has restored it to standard condition and refitted the original bullet stripes instead of the wide Mexico ones I had put on the car, hopefully he can send some pictures soon and I may get a chance to se it again at a show.

I purchased my mexico as a project car in 1989 having only had 3 owners, the first 2 were brothers. Although rough looking (it had won the dubious prize of Concours de Filth the previous year at AVO Owners Club National Day) the car was structually very sound and needed mainly cosmetic panels replaced before a respray, some trim repair and a mechanical rebuild. The work was completed in a very short time and I used the car through the spring and summer of 1990 before selling it to get on with my RS2000.
